CBSE invites application for CTET 2013 to be eligible to teach at primary or elementary level schools in India. CTET is conducted to enroll eligible candidates as teachers in the schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Tibetan Schools etc.), unaided private schools and schools owned as well as maintained by the state Government/local bodies [as State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)].

Central Teacher Eligibility Test is compulsory for all those aspirants who want to teach at primary or elementary level in any government or private school in India. States are free to conduct their own STET (State Teacher Eligibility Test) or honour CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test). Aspirants getting 60 percent or above marks will be eligible to get TET Certificate. The score will be valid for 7 years. Applicants can give any number of attempts to pass or improve their scores.

Eligibility

For Classes I-V: Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 percent marks and passed or appearing in final 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) / 2 – year Diploma in Education in Special Education. OR BA/B.Sc. with at least 50 percent marks and B.Ed qualification.For Classes VI-VIII: B.A. /B.Sc passed and passed or appearing in final 2 – year D.Ed. / B.A. /B.Sc. with at least 45 percent marks and passed or appearing in B.Ed / Senior Secondary with at least 50 percent marks and passed or appearing in final 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) / 4-year BA/ B.Sc.Ed. or B.A. (Ed.)/B.Sc. (Ed.) / B.Ed. (Special Education) with 50 percent in BA or B.Sc.

How to apply:-

Online Application has to be submitted by accessing CBSE & CTET websites. The candidate should supply all the details while filling up the On-line Application. Candidates are required to take a print out of the computer generated Confirmation Page after successful submission of data, which has to be sent to CBSE, CTET Unit, after affixing a passport size photograph and signature in the space provided, and also with the original CBSE copy of Challan if fees paid through Challan.

The fee can be remitted in the following ways:

(i) Through Challan by deposit of prescribed fees in CBSE Account with Syndicate Bank or e-Post Office in favour of Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi.

(ii)By Debit/Credit Card.

The application fee is Rs 500 for General/OBC category and Rs 250 for SC/ST/Differently able category.
