CDS

Combined Defence Service exam is conducted by UPSC for the recruitment to officer cadre of the Army, Navy and Air force. CDS exam is conducted twice a year generally in the months of May and October. Candidates qualifying the written test are interviewed by the Service Selection Board. On the basis of merit and choice of Academy the candidates are sent to one of the following acadamies for training: Indian Military Academy (IMA), Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, Officers Training Academy (OTA)

Qualifying Subject(s):IMA & OTA :Degree of a recognized University or equivalent
NA:B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engg
AFA:B.Sc. with Physics and/or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engg
Min Marks:Should have passed the qualifying exam.
Min Age:IMA:19-24 Years
NA: 19-22 Years
AFA:19-23 Years
OTA:19-25 Years
