JMET

JMET is the first step in the process of admission to the TWO YEAR FULL TIME Postgraduate Degree Programmes in Management offered by IITs .JMET is only a qualifying examination. Candidates have to apply separately to the Institutes of their choice.The results of JMET provides a basis to each participating Institute to shortlist potential candidates for conducting its own selection process, like,Group Discussion /Interview etc.

Verbal Communication
Duration:3 hours for the all sections combined

Question Type:Test the candidate's comprehension of and interpretative abilities in English as a language of business and candidate's felicity with common forms of English expression, grammar and usage in business that would enable him/her to extract essential informat
Logical Reasoning
Duration:3 hours for the all sections combined
No of Questions:120
Question Type:Consists of questions on analytical reasoning, argument analysis, and analysis of explanation questions.
Quantitative Ability
Duration:3 hours for the all sections combined
No of Questions:120
Question Type:Questions to test the candidate's understanding of Basic Mathematics,Linear Algebra ,Probability and Statistics.
Data Interpretation
Duration:3 hours for the all sections combined
No of Questions:120
Question Type:Questions to assess the ability to make valid interpretations from a given data set and the ability to understand data in different representative forms such as simple tables, histograms, pie charts, graphs, scatter diagrams, etc.

Eligibility Criteria

Min Qualification:Bachelors
Qualifying Subject(s):Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria listed against the Management School/Department of each Institute can appear for the JMET examination.
Min Marks:60% aggregate marks / min. CGPI of 6.5 out of 10 at the qualifying examination.
Min Age:Minimum age as per the the mandatory qualification.
Reservation Crieteria:There is a relaxation of 5% in marks or equivalent in CGPI for SC/ST candidates.
