NSD Exam
The National School of Drama conducts an entrance exam for admission to three-year full-time Diploma Course for those intending to make theatre their profession. The screening of applicants is carried out in two stages. The preliminary screening comprises of an audition or practical test of the candidates.Candidates recommended by the Preliminary Selection Committee will go through a final round of selection in the form of a 3 to 5 days workshop.

Eligibility Criteria
| Min Qualification: | Bachelors |
| Qualifying Subject(s): | A graduate in any discipline with at least 10 years experience in stage productions.Should have proficiency in Hindi and English |
| Min Marks: | Active participation in at least 6 plays or any other field related to theatre. |
| Min Age: | 18 to 30 years. |
| Reservation Crieteria: | Out of 20 seats, 4 seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC candidates, preferably those from families traditionally belonging to the performing arts. |
| Other: | The candidate should be an Indian citizen. |
