Saveetha University

Recognized globally for academic excellence, Saveetha University today is a vibrant community of learning. It is one of the premier universities in India running Medical, Technical, Management and Law institutions. It was declared as deemed to be university under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 by Government of India on 18th March 2005. The university is governed by Saveetha Institutes of Medical and Technical Sciences, a trust which was established by Saveetha Medical And Educational Trust. Saveetha University is located at the outskirts of Greater Chennai(Madras), the gateway of South India, in a green and serene atmosphere with various multi-storied blocks connected by well laid concrete roads and parking lots on the Chennai- Bangalore National Highway. The University spans across two campuses. The main campus with an area of 20 acres is located at 162, Poonamallee High Road, Chennai - 600077, within Chennai metropolitan area . It houses the College of Dental Surgery, Saveetha School of Management, Saveetha Law College, Biomedical Research Unit and Laboratory Animal Center, the M.M. Convention Center, guest house apart from student amenities like hostels, cafeteria, library, Internet center, play ground, etc. The second campus, sprawling across 130 acres, is located at Saveetha nagar, Thandalam on the Chennai- Bangalore National Highway 10 Kms away from the main campus. It houses Saveetha Medical College, General Hospital, College of Engineering & Technology, College of Nursing, College of Physiotherapy, residential facilities for faculty and students and other amenities. Both campuses are well connected to the city center by public transport services with Hi-tech Air-conditioned buses. The institutions are permitted and recognized by Government of India, Goverment of Tamilnadu, the respective councils and statutory bodies. It is also certified by BVQi as ISO 2001:9000 and NAAC for quality assurence.
